This was my absolute dream apartment complex until the issues with the trash!!! It's so awful and the build up over the weekends is worse. It coats the entire complex with a rotting smell you can't avoid from the outside. On the inside, the overflow of trash allows roaches and other pests to thrive and get into the units. I have never left a review before. Some good service and some not so good, but none to the level that led me to be so impressed to leave a review. Until now. We were in the area all weekend to find housing for my son, who will be attending his Masters program at UNC. We visited a LOT of locations. Some were OK and decently priced. This review is regarding the management of J 501 Estates more than it is about the apartment complex itself. I used to live in this complex before Covid, and recently moved back to the area and wanted to live here again. The complex is now managed under Jefferson Apartment Group, and if they still run this place when you are leasing, RUN AWAY!!! (There's a TL;DR at the end for those that don't like long reviews).
