Entry gates are constantly broken, allowing anyone to drive thru. Several neighbors have told me about reporting drug activity to management and nothing has been done to stop it. Pool area is overrunning with non residents sneaking in and drunken parties leaving glass beer bottles and cigarettes all over the place, not a good family atmosphere. Honestly, this place is an overpriced Ghetto Project

My husband and I lived at the avana for 2 years. Needless to say we did everything in our power to get out of there. I could write a novel about how terrible this place is (and I’ve lived in much crappier apartments with thicker walls) don’t be fooled by how nice they look on the outside and inside, or the prices. Your sanity will be tested. We lived 2 years with pigeons in our ceiling, chirping all day and crapping everywhere to where the guest bedroom and guest bathroom constantly smelled like bird feces. Do not move here unless you like your cars being broke into or vandalized. Also, your neighbors could be drug dealing potheads with sex offenders for friends, so take that into consideration. The parents here could care less about what their kids do, so they're probably the ones vandalizing cars. The on-site security is a reject constable that even the police department despises.
