I had a problem with my damper. Gary from Century Chimney Inc. suggested I install a new stainless steel damper that operates at the top of my chimney, by pulling a cord down below by the fireplace opening. This thing works great, and I no longer have cold air gushing into my living room in the winter. I found him on centurychimney.com . I didn't check prices before hiring him, but I did check after, and some other sweep wanted $500 for the same thing that these guys did for $325. Would definitely recommend them. I really like that the owner shows up! His name is Gary Spolar, and he works with a gentleman named Greg, that has been his best friend since childhood. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and kept my white carpet spotless! I was told be a previous company I hired that I needed thousands of dollars worth of work on my chimney, but Gary gave me a clean bill of health.
