Centro has good food. I have been here a few times. The fist time, the experience was less than great. I went with a group and ordered the smallest pizza (I was sans dh that night). The waitress brought me the biggest pizza. When I told her I had ordered the smaller size, she looked at her ticket and said she wrote down that size. Well, my bill ended up being ~$40 (she gave me the larger pizza, but also charged me for it). But, the second time I went, my service was much better. The food was good, btw.
Centro Centro is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always great, and the service is fabulous. Last time I was there, I had the Three Cheese Medallions, and they were wonderful. It is a fancy place, so menu items are expensive, but well worth it.
Watch your credit card If you pay with a credit card at Centro, be sure to check your monthly credit card statement against what you signed for at the restaurant. A few years ago, I used my card to pay for our group and we each left a cash tip on the table. When my statement came, another 20 percent had been added on to the amount I had signed for in the restaurant. I didn't know this was even possible. I thought once you signed the credit card receipt it was a done-deal. Apparently not. The manager said it was a mistake bec... read more
Great Food - Modern Atmosphere I am from the east coast but when visiting Iowa (I know) this is a place I make a point to visit every time. The food is amazing - and the atmosphere is very modern. The prices are well within reason - especially given the quality of the food and size of the portions! Definitely one of the best places in downtown IA.
Cento Restaurant is okay I like this restaurant, but I don't like the wood-smoke smell that you leave with. It is also a bit overpriced for me and a bit fancy. I just want good ol fries and a burger.
Horrible is an Undestatement Worst service, Pizza was cold and IMPOSSIBLE to CHEW! Pasta was overcooked!! The waitress made me feel as if she was doing me a favor by waiting on us, I don't know how a place like this stays in Business and gets such great reviews from the local food CRITICS, Could there be some sort of BRIBERY going on?? hmmmm makes you wonder.....People STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, you will be glad you did. Stay AWAY !! Food Poisoning is HORRIBLE. My fiance got food poisoning from this place, and it was certified by Mercy Hospital!! and the refused to pay the emergency room visit. to top it off, they (the chef) didn't even realize when you steam shellfish, and it doesnt open naturally, it is bad!!
