I was with Central Valley Community Bank for over 15 years. I would make monthly deposits online overseas every month. When Community West bought Central Valley bank, I was told the amount I deposit each month is too much and could no longer deposit the full amount. (They now only allow $2500 mobile deposit). Bank teller asked me for my social security number to cash a check and I have never once been asked that while cashing a check here so I wrote it down but out of uncomfort I asked the teller why is it that she needed that information and she told me “because the machine will need to verify” meanwhile a lady right next to me is cashing a check and she came after I did so I heard her whole encounter and not one time was she asked for anything more than a thumb print, signature, and identification card… a normal interaction… th... read more
