The Center for Hearing and Speech (formerly known as Houston School for Deaf Children) is a non-profit, United Way agency that teaches children with hearing impairments speaking, listening and literacy skills. CHS was founded in 1947 by four parents who wanted their children with hearing impairments to communicate by speaking instead of using sign language. They have worked with my daughter who has 95% hearing loss in both ears and she's starting to react to noise normally with her implant on. I'm so very happy with the people and the work from here.

I absolutely LOVE this place. My daughter initially was being seen elsewhere for her hearing loss and speech impairment. What I was being told there, was not adding up to what i was seeing at home. I came to the center for a second opinion about a year ago, and have not question them since! Not only has my daughter gotten the help she needs, but I've seen her grown exponentially with the help of her SLP and the audiology department! Amazing place! The staff is great and love the support they have given to my little sister.
Our grandson has been there since he was eighteen months he has really grown and learned so much. The support here is great from the staff.
