As an outpatient provider in the community, working with Center for Discovery has been such an exceptional experience. I've had great interactions with the entire staff at CFD and can appreciate their responsiveness and willingness to help those in need find help and start their healing journey.
I was at CFD west palm 2 and a half times (half because I did a 2 week “booster” over summer) and all of the times, CFD was absolutely incredible. My first IOP stay at CFD I was when I transitioned from a different residential and PHP treatment center to continue my care at home. Although it was a difficult transition for me, CFD 100% worked with me during this time and accommodated me in several ways. This last time, I was at CFD, I was in the PHP and IOP program. DO NOT GO HERE FOR PHP/IOP FOR AN INTUITIVE EATING OR HAES APPROACH, OR IF YOU ARE TRANS/NB. They preach it but in reality do not practice it. There is active harm being done at this facility. There is a book full of "Guidelines" about food portioning that is incredibly rigid and can be harmful. Measuring food was never an ED behavior for me, but now after attending CFD, I can't think about food without using their measurements and feeling incredibly guilty for going over their "bare minimum" for fats + starches.
