It’s been a year since I spent some time here, and I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on my experience here. I believe the goals of treatment and recovery here get far more overshadowed by a vindictive, punitive approach to treating minors. Compared to the adult house in McLean (which I had the fortune to visit), the minors at the Fairfax house aren’t allowed to watch movies, interact with any form of technology outside of monitored, approved educational resources, or use personal video games. I was a previous patient at CFD a couple months ago, there were a lot of ups and downs throughout my journey however I just want to give a huge shout out to techs Sarah and Ava, truly one of the most kindest supportive techs ever.
