Communities need artists/artistic organizations who aren't afraid to check the pulse of the current cultural climate. Artists who will speak the truth through metaphor and movement, regardless of public opinion. Artists who value the process of creation as much as the value of engagement. CATAC/New World Performance Laboratory is a great example of this kind of artistic organization. Akron will be reaping CATAC's artistic contributions for years to come.
My first choice for theatre is NWPL. For that reason, I'm much more selective about what other productions I will go to. This is theatre at its finest.
