I brought my teen here for a severe specific phobia. It took quite a while, but my child made tremendous progress and was able to complete a difficult task that involved her phobia. There isn’t much help out there for these really impactful issues. Years of previous therapy had done nothing. The program didn’t accept insurance, so it was self-pay, and not inexpensive. I contacted The Center for Anxiety to inquire about getting help for my daughter who suffers from Panic Disorder. I spoke with Bonnie Brown, the intake nurse who was AMAZING!!!!! While the center does not take insurance so it was not an option for us, Bonnie took time out of her busy day to provide additional information to aid in my search. I even called her again a month later for more help. This is the first place that actually listened to my concerns and offered up information to help.

If their intake process is any indication of how this organization is run, I would avoid this center at all costs. After filling out paperwork and then rehashing concerns for my little one for over 20 minutes, they nonchalantly shared that the program was not a good fit. The delivery of this information was so cold and scripted, it was awful! They should do a better job training their screeners as they are the first contact person and parents and individuals are going through a hard time to begin with!
