What a terrible service at the Northwestern Hospital emergency room in Huntley. Yesterday my son had a bad fall and hurt his left arm. He was in a lot of pain and the receptionist who attended to us told us that the wait was more than two hours and that it would be better if we went somewhere else. They did not care about the pain my son was in and acted very despotic. One of the worst hospitals/immediate care locations I’ve ever been to. Rude, loud, condescending. While checking in the lady taking my info is shouting out the personal questions I’m there to discuss with a doctor or nurse, which she is neither, loud enough for anyone to hear. Told me I was in the wrong place. Changed her mind after I told I was sent here by my doctor. We were sent to the ER immediately upon arrival because of my son’s age. When we told the ER nurses they were surprised by that. While we’re sitting in the waiting room in the ER three others all varying ages were also sent to the ER..nurses were not happy. Stop flooding the ER with non emergencies there is no reason to send infants and children to the ER for simple illnesses at that point there is no reason for an immediate care...last time we were here we were sitting next to someone who complained of the same issue..Recep... read more
Didn’t want to leave any stars, but it wouldn’t allow me to write a review without selecting at least one. We walked in, and walked out 3 minutes later. Receptionist was beyond rude and disrespectful to us. Had a simple insurance question about our extenuating circumstances (workman’s comp), and was immediately told they couldn’t see us. She did suggest that we wait for the doctor to speak with us “when she’s ready”, but made it very clear we would not be seen medically. Read the poor reviews but went in anyway. I had something irritating my eye. NP “looked” in my eye, did some kind of test with eye drops, and said that I probably have something under the lid irritating it. I felt like she really didn’t look under my lid as thorough as my husband did. My eye was clearly swollen slightly and watering and painful. The NP sent me home with antibiotic ointment.
