I only gave 1 star because it was mostly clean. Ad said queen beds but they were double, very old mattresses, flat pillows, very uncomfortable. Tiny bathrm, toilet ran all nite. Carpet was old with lots of cigarette burns, old furniture, smelly rm. Don't know where previous reviewer stayed but it wasn't here. Won't stay there again! August 5-6, 011

I gave it 1 star because it was clean. Beds horrible, very, ad said queen but they were double, flat pillows, uncomfortable. Rm smelled a little, carpet dirty with cigarette burns all over. Bath very small & toilet ran all nite. Way too high for such an old motel. Won't stay again. August 5-6, 2011

I attended a friend's birthday celebration at Cedar Avenue Inn. The pool was so unique and the bar's atmosphere was inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful.

This was a very cozy place to stay for the weekend. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the pool was great for people of all ages (not to mention it is shaped like Michigan), a roomy hot tub, a well-stocked bar, and clean, comfortable rooms. This is a great place for families, groups of friends and anything in between. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling up to the Gladwin area.

Best room I have had in years under $100 any where. Nice rooms, larger than chain hotels. Slept great, next day asked the lady at the desk about finding the lake that my inlaws have a cabin on, not only gave me directions, but went out to her car and gave me a county map. Met others staying in there pub for cocktails, non smoking and the drinks were great. Booked a suite for my sister-in laws wedding this spring, looking forward to coming back.

We stayed there basically because of limited time, and not familiar with the area. The website didn't look bad. But heres the real deal.... The bedding was old and dusty from 1970's-80. The beds themselves were terribly uncomfortable. Upon entering the room, there were bugs in the bath tub, broken-rusty bathroom fixtures, paper thin walls -- able to hear peoples conversations as if they were right next to us. Old rattling windows, and for $80 a night, it was ridiculous. I didn't expect something fabulous, but it was the PITS... read more
