I will no longer be recommending these instruments to my students. I purchased a viola from their amazon store just a couple months ago to see how it would work for my students and when I was playing it today the tailpiece cord snapped and sent the bridge, strings, and tailpiece itself into my throat, leaving an angry, swollen red mark. Now I no longer have a working viola and I will be asking anyone to not purchase these cheap quality instruments. My wife bought me a beautful Mendini Tenor sax for Christmas and I really like it! However, when I was putting it all together it was missing the neck strap, reeds and cork grease that were suppose to come with it. I have reached out several times to the company in order to fix this and they will not even talk to me. Poor customer service! It's too bad that their failure in that area gives them a bad reputation.
I just love my Mendini Rosewood Clarinet. I had been playing on a Yamaha for many years, and I bought the Mendini for one reason: I thought the Rosewood looked pretty. Turns out it fits so much better under my hands than the Yamaha. Of course with a cheap Clarinet you always want to upgrade it with a great mouthpiece, so I play with a Vandoren M13 mouthpiece on it. The one problem I've had is where the barrel joins the clarinet, it is so unbelievable tight, I'm worried about breaking the clarinet when I disassemble it. I've ... read more
