The location was great, right on the river. Service seemed to be great. Food was really good, someone there paid for me and my girlfriends dinner. Everything was awesome, however I only has 100 dollar bills and asked the guy to give me change for it and asked for 20s. He came back with all kinds of different bills but I didn't think much about it. Left a 35$ tip. We went here for our anniversary on the boat and ate there not contemplating the price! Food was good but not $50 a person at minimum good! Also wasn't expecting the tip to be automatically added on to our bill after check out! Wont go back! Max & Ermas will get our business!
I made a reservation for 3 for my six year anniversary. It was a 30-minute drive to the restaurant and when my family arrived all dressed up, we were turned down because my son was not 18. When I made the reservation, I was not asked if everyone was over 18, and making a reservation for 3 people would be a red flag for the 3rd one possibly not being 18. The hostess did not seem very remorseful, and with it being prom night, the wait anywhere else would have been long. I will not dine at Cavanaugh's again.
Cavanaughs has a beautiful view, furnishings and dim light atmosphere. Everything I have ever had is delicious. The steaks and chocolate desserts are my favorite. We have eaten there frequently. My son who is 18 recently tried to take his 17 year old girl friend to eat and they refused them service and said they could order something to go. They just left. He saved his money to show her a nice evening out (dressed up in the nicest clothes he has) and they refused to serve them. They can go to war at 18 but not eat in a fancy... read more
