I trusted Caudill's Electrical to repair or replace my stand by generator. when the serviceman arrived he failed to inspect the generator outside for voltage output and, instead, said the transfer switch inside the basement was the problem. Ordering a new transfer switch, he said, "would fix the problem". It didn't. I ordered another part per his recommendation.
