Ive lived in pierre my whole life, finally decided to try cattlemans and was not impressed. It was comparable to outback steakhouse, I was hoping it'd be more comparable to roadhouse. Our server was great and attentive, however the food was rather subpar. I ordered the prime rib which was $30+ for 10 oz. The cut was a good size, but the flavor was none existent, in terms of the seasonings used (if any). I believe its because the steak was swimming in au jus or it was poorly seasoned. One of the best prime ribs in the central part of SD!
This is a great steak house! High quality beef that was well prepared. The drinks were very good, and the service was superb. We loved it! It has a very convivial and upbeat vibe, and it looks over the river.
After waiting shy of 3 hrs from wait time to service we finally got our food. I get it was busy but that’s ridiculous. Our server was not friendly. My husband raves about it when he comes for work trips and fishing. He was so disappointed. Definitely not worth the 116.00 bill. He said he would never go back.
