I have had pain in my r calf for many months. I was referred to Dr. Abeysekera at CatawbaValley Vascular. He was very calming and professional and he listened! He measured the pulse in my ankle on both feet. There was a discrepancy so he sent me for a vascular workup which indicated a problem. Waiting for approval from insurance for Dr. Abeysekera to perform surgery. I trust him.
I had a hemorrhagic stroke while under their care and I wasn't informed. I was told I was normal. CT recommended MRI for superimposed recent ischemic injury and he did nothing. By chance I saw the results on the CT report and viewed it on the CD. HE STILL REFUSED to order for MRI to confirm the stroke. BP was elevated every visit. High velocities in my carotid and abdominal arteries,significant turtosity of the proximal cervical ICAs, FMDs seem to be of no interest to this group. In one of my rare visits to my doctor in the begining of the year, Dr. Robert Glen who is the best MD. in a 150 mile radius, he ask me if there was anything other than my blood preasure bothering me. I replyed that I was tired of hearing my heartbeat in my right ear. With stethoscope in hand he listened to the left side of my neck and then to the right side taking time to listen throughly.
