The doctor is excellent. However, the ophthalmic technician has a very negative attitude. Overall the rest of the office service is excellent.
I developed a hole in my retina and needed macular hole surgery. Dr Maria Castillejos, the retina specialist for Castillejos Eye Institute, performed my surgery. All went flawless. Macular hole surgery causes a cataract to form within a year. I went back to CEI and was introduced to Dr David Castillejos, the cataract specialist there. He performed surgery removing my natural lens and replacing it with a new intraocular lens. Next day I had 20/25 vision w/o glasses. Much more than I expected!
I couldn't even get an appointment with this doctor without providing insurance information in other words money first explainef to the receptionist and I would take insurance information to her at time of appointment but she still refused to make an appointment I cannot trust a doctor that cannot trust me to provide insurance at time of appointment
The improvement to my vision is incredible! From a poor 20-40 to a wonderful 20-25 thanks to Dr. David Castillejos at the Castillejos Eye Institute in Chula Vista. Cataract extraction and lens replacement was done in one morning! Thank you Dr. David and staff. Gratefully yours, Howard Parsons
