Run away! Front desk staff are NOT TRAINED and are more interested in themselves than you. Original stay was going to be 5 nights, upon check-in I told the front desk staff that I would likely only be staying 3 nights and asked if it was OK to let them know the next day. They said "YES, no problem". I told them the next day I was only staying 3 nights and they said "OK" but was told that I would have to pay for all 5 nights and would get a "credit" for 2 nights for future use. FYI they require a $250 deposit/hold. It will be released when the housekeeper decides you have not smoked in the room. I gotta say my room smelled as if someone was definitely smoking somewhere in the building and I could smell it in my room. The deposit is still pending on my card two days after my stay which is concerning. Otherwise room was decent but worn. Man that runs the attached bar is super nice and friendly. Enjoyed chatting with him while waiting on my pizza.
Cascades Inn is a beautiful place. It may not look fancy from the road, but the rooms are really nice and the garden courtyard is gorgeous, even in the winter. We stayed in the deluxe room with the kitchenette, and it was well worth the small extra cost.
I want to give a 5, honestly. For what I've heard about this place, it's a dump.. but the room I visited was great! I was turned down from renting there bc my ID was associated with the Shalom Center. I don't remember ever using my ID at Shalom. Yet still, I thought that was more than a little bit presumptuous and unfair. I wasn't trying to stay a month or more, I was trying to stay a day or two. I'm also very clean and considerate. I wonder if they still have me on the DNR list 🤔
