Great cohousing community!
My family has lived in Casa Verde for 3 years and we have enjoyed the community aspects of Co-housing. Common Meals, shared community resources, community garden, and multi-generational relationship with others. My children have enjoyed a safe place to run around. This is a place where you can ask your neighbors for something and they respond.
From the beginning this co-housing community has been an oasis of shared values. The community is physically beautiful, and community members are generally easy-going and reasonable. As with all things, though, there are exceptions. It disappoints to see false, inflammatory accusations against community members posted by a disgruntled former resident. I lived at Casa Verde for 5 years with my husband and 2 young children and moving out was the best thing for my family. I do not advise moving here on account of the HOA, consensus decision-making, and cliques/people-problems. I was told by Deana P (representing the "facilitation" committee) that "new people need to have their wrists slapped" and another time I was threatened by Aaron A. (who currently serves on the HOA Board) with a baseball bat and threatened by Jose R. that he would go get his firearm when a disagreement ... read more
