I bought a pair of sunglasses from Carytown Optical expecting to get the "ho-hum service" as any chain store would give... I was very wrong. From the quality of the custom lenses and how they fit into the frames, to the quick and easy turn-a-round I had the best experience ever at this shop. If you want old school, personal service, quaint charm, and the most variety of brands I've seen anywhere, go see the folks at Carytown you will not be disappointed; they even gave me free cleaning wipers. I have been going to Cynthia for 10 years now. Her and Beth are great, super helpful and when it's needed, they will steer you away from potentially disastrous decisions(I love round frames, they don't love me). Her collection is vast, from sleek and sophisticated to the more daring, adventurous looks. She even has frames cut from vinyl records! Definitely worth a visit.
Wow...only way to describe Cynthia and her crew at Carytown Optical. Not only did she take all the time necessary to help me pick out a perfect frame, but she also provided an incredibly thorough education about why we were making the decisions we were making. Never any pressure, always assuring me that if any part of the end product wasn't up to my standards, Carytown Optical would make it right. Carytown Optical fitted me with a pair of glasses to use specifically for working on the computer. I was constantly struggling with my bifocals to focus on the computer screen and experienced a sore neck also from tilting my head back. I can¿t believe the difference that the new eyeglasses make. I wish I had known about this option sooner. Carytown Optical fitted me with a really cool looking pair that I keep at work only.
