Installed doors that don't shut properly, and they can't fix it. Then they installed the wrong glass in a window (it wasn't tempered as plans called for it to be). We had to replace it. They refused to remove the old window or pay for the other repair work required (e.g. paint) due to their installation mistake. If your builder is using Carter, I'd suggest you have them look elsewhere.

Terrible experience with Carter Lumber. Easily the worse home improvement project I've ever taken on. I contacted Carter in August 2022 to begin the process of replacing some window sashes that had condensation between the panes. The window manufacturer recommended Carter Lumber. The Carter rep and their recommended installer measured in August 2022 and I placed the original order a month later. The job was finally completed 16 months later in December 2023. Don’t waste your time! 84 Lumber is more helpful & cost effective! And would buy windows & doors from Window Gallery in Cornelius any day before Carter!
Friendly people quick unloading and they have overnight parking please be respectful so we can continue to park there
