This company is fraudulent. They took over management of a apartment complex I lived in a month after I put in my 60 day notice and was in good standing at and dishonored my notice claiming to not have received it (“Although my last month was prorated per my lease end date”) and sent me to collections for a balance of $3000 + dollars for not giving proper notice. I have lived in my apartment for two years now and do not plan to renew my lease. After my first year, the property changed over to Carter-Haston and my quality of living has lowered since then. For one thing, I woke up to 7°F winds blowing into my home because the only two windows in my apartment had caved in during the night. Stay away from this company at all costs. My mother was a resident in one of their properties for 5 years. Unfortunately, she passed away last month. This company expected a 2 month penalty payment for breaking her lease. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? When they realized that they couldn't charge a dead person the penalty, they decided to keep her $800 security deposit instead, money I needed to help bury her.
