Carter Animal Hospital (Dr. Rayburn) I've used them for 3 pets, one of which was an orphaned squirrel. They are so nice and really seem to be honest. I thought my squirrel had warbles, which requires minor surgery. The dr said it was only a skin infection and cleaned it out. The visit only cost $40, what a relief! Also, they accept Care Credit, which most vets do not. I live in Lakeland and drive all the way out there just b/c they are so great. THANKS GUYS!
Disappointing Experience I recently took my 12 year old miniature ShihTzu to see Dr. Rayburn at Carter Animal Hospital. She had been there one previous time and I was pleased with them. However, this time, I found the technical staff (not the receptionist) to be condescending and curt. I was not impressed with the answers to my questions and the doctor did not even look at me when I spoke or when he spoke back to me. hummm im totally agree with " the doctor did not even look at me when I spoke or when he spoke back to me" since i had expierience at Carters last year, i changed my vet right away,,but i went back this time for my dogs rabies shot only because it's just 2 miles from my house. it was just simple rabies shot,but i was so upset and regret for went back there again. i think he only try to make a money and sell his goods. and he is very rude. i can really tell he doesnt care about animal at all.he asked me "is everything ok with... read more
great service Friendly staff and doctor who take the time to explain everything to you. They give the best care at reasonable prices. This is a veterinarian that really cares.
Carter Animal Hospital My wife and I recently had a pet emergency. One of our dogs got into a scuffle and it resulted in a gashed neck that required an immediate suture. Although it was after hours, Dr. Rayburn was kind enough to meet us at his office to sew up our little guy. I highly recommend Carter Animal Hospital to anyone who wants a Veterinarian who not only cares, but is truly knowledgeable about animals. Couldn't be happier with our most recent experience. Excellent vet & hospital! I can't say enough to express how impressed I am with Dr. Rayburn and his staff! Last night my Pekinese puppy, Iggy had his first full night sleep ever! Dr. Rayburn did a “stenotic nares†surgery to open up his nostrils so he can breathe without difficulty and has given Iggy a new lease on life. I wouldn't even bother. I'm really glad to know that we weren't the only people who had a bad experience here. I regret not doing my homework BEFORE we made an appointment. The reciptionist was the only friendly person we came into contact with during our trip to Carter's. We only came here because the procedure that we thought we needed done couldn't be done at our normal vet. Recently moved to Winter Haven, after looking for a Vet I finally found my babies Drs! Dr. Orange was amazing and so was all of her staff! They all took their time to evaluate my new baby and lots of treats and kisses where involved! Their prizes are GREAT!!! Look no more and go visit them 🥰
