I personally couldn't pay 2 payments I ask to pay 1 they said no I hated when BofA transfer my loan to them. I would never recommend them to anyone
Worst mortgage company I’ve dealt with to date. I got on a payment plan bc I was late and couldn’t catch up. I made my payment two days early and they cancelled my payment plan. Bc “ I was caught up” then causing me to go another 30 days late, collecting their late fees, and telling me there’s nothing they can do to help.
Our original mortgage was sold to Carrington. What a treat! After 7 years of early/on-time payments, we were hit hard by Hurricane Milton and requested forbearance while we made $17k in repairs out of pocket. I was told our forbearance was approved through April of 2025 (as a FEMA-declared disaster). Wrong. Carrington only approves forbearance for investors. Glad our house closes soon so I don't have to deal withbthese people everagain. I actually had to send a registered letter to ceo of company. Nice guy. Found my payment immediately.
I closed out my loan with this company, and they sent me a check for money they owed me back (~4k) yet denied it when I went to cash it and refuse to take my phone calls. They have left me on hold to hang up on me multiple times, and avoided trying to help me when I went through other departments. I'm extremely frustrated and want my money back. Considering legal action.
