I chose Advance Auto Parts in Eaton Rapids today because their price was a little cheaper than O'Reilly Auto Parts. Unfortunately, the experience made me wish I had just gone to O’Reilly’s. I walked in with a toddler who kept trying to run off, and I was clearly struggling while trying to find the correct blinker bulb. I was even saying out loud which one I needed. Great customer service!!
I went here tonight with a 2001 S10 to have it scanned so I could see what code it was throwing. The new girl couldn’t get the OBD reader to work then told me I didn’t have a check engine light on. I showed her the light and she said “sir that’s a service engine soon light. You forgot to reset the oil life on your truck when the oil was changed” I laughed so hard. My hubby was out of town, so I stopped by the store for a windshield wiper. It was snowy and cold outside, but he happily came out to see what I needed—and then put them on! I’m super pleased with the service I received and will definitely be back.
The store itself is not the problem, the problem is attitudes of employees being more sarcastic than being helpful. As another time I had a bad experience there as well. I also dont like the fact they brought in this store, when our town has 2-3 other local small businesses owners and having this nationally branded company added does nothing but undermine the hard working small businesses owners who also sell automotive parts and service.
