Do not send your loved one here... If it's the only rehab available at hospital discharge time, do not accept it. I could go on, but won't.. Just want to warn others.
My family member was sent here post-surgery. They didn't read his chart, give him his prescribed medicine, or follow his post-op procedures. The doctor at the Carlton never saw him in the 3 days he was there. Then he was left unattended in a dangerous position for his surgery, lost blood flow to vital organs, and we had to beg the Carlton to send him by ambulance back to the ICU. He literally needed a follow up surgery that may not have been necessary if he was well cared for. Unacceptable.
I would definitely not recommend this facility to anyone. My mother and other's we know have had such terrible treatment there at the "Carolton Rehabilitation Center" in Fairfield CT. They have their patients sitting in wet diapers for three hours or more and last night my mother didn't get her dinner she asked for. They are extremely rude when confronted about any issues. My mother is a short-stay rehabilitation patient from another nursing home. Hopefully, they can help her reach her goal within the time aloted by the insurance. We hope her short-stay will be productive and she can go home or go back to the other facility. We wish to personally thank the staff. This whole process is quite intimating for most elderly people. Home is best. Please help us reach this destination.
