When renting from Carolina Moves you need to be aware of your rights as a tenant per the SC Landlord Tenant Act. Tenants are not responsible for professionally cleaning their rental unit if it is not in your lease. Our lease indicated that we were responsible for "damages beyond normal wear and tear." We naively paid to have our rental unit professionally cleaned since Carolina Moves told us to do this. That was our first mistake. We paid for the work they needed to do. Our move out report stated our property was in "GOOD" c... read more

My fiancé hired this company to manage his home in Simpsonville. The agreement was between a single male that had a dog that weighed less than 40 pounds. Also, the home was to be rented to non-smokers. There was actually a man, woman, and 2 children in the home with a 70+ pound dog. The tenants broke their lease September 1, 2020 and trashed the property including the dog urinating all over the brand new carpet, dirty diapers, food left rotting in the refrigerator and freezer, cigarette butts clearly put out on the floor all... read more

Business response:

This person is not our client but apparently the fiancé of a client who experienced a difficult lease end situation. There are 2 sides to every story, and this person's public reaction and comments are significantly out of proportion to the actual events in our opinion.

Great people work here. Give them a call if you need to rent or need a great property management group.

They were helpful until we got here. Beware if the owner of the property does not have Carolina Moves managing the maintenance. CM will do nothing to help you because they aren't legally required to and all their paperwork sets that up. you have no idea who the owner is or who the owner's maintenance is through because you call a 3rd party line to make your requests. you can't even have a written record. best believe they will charge you at the end though whether it's your fault or not. We have rats in the walls when we move... read more

Business response:

We are sorry that you are not happy with the maintenance. Unfortunately, we have nothing to do with the maintenance at this property. The homeowner handles his own maintenance.

As a Property Manager: We had several good interactions but by the end of our contract we had a number of poor experiences with Carolina Moves. We began with one individual as our contact person that switched while we were with them. This is where many of our problems began. Jennifer Arter was our new Property Manager. Positive items about overall experience: Cost of service was very reasonable and affordable Communication at first was very good and proactive They would always email back, but wouldn’t always update you after... read more

As a landlord Carolina Moves are great to deal with even when a bad tenant goes missing after trashing your property. The tenant looked so good on paper.
