Carmalitas This is our favorite Mexican restaurant, the food is outstanding, the people who work there are very nice. If you love authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go.
Meh... so so – My wife and I went there hoping to find a great place close to home and we were not wowed. It wasn't terrible food, but we both agreed we've had better. The salsa was good and the prices were reasonable, but my wife had a bad stomach ache once we got home. We'll explore other places before we go back there. Powerful Margaritas! – If you have a margarita while you're waiting for your food to arrive, let me tell ya, by the time your food arrives you'll be pretty far gone! A great place to go, relax, and have a great time with friends! The food is good, but I've never actually been 100% sober while eating it! Have fun!
Great for families – Awesome food and a wonderful place for families. They are definitely kid friendly.
Very Good Chimichangas Carmelitas is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the greater Sacramento area. I always order the same dish - a beef chimichanga, no guacamole, with rice on the side. If you're looking for Mexican food that is a bit more authentic than Taco Bell or Jimboy's, then Carmelitas is a great alternative. It's a little expensive, I warn you, but very tasty. Try the margaritas, too.
THE BEST – I am from mexico and this is the only food in SAC that even comes close.... forget the rest and visit Carmelita's! the drinks r awesome by the way..there are two visit the new one on Fair Oaks and Sunrise
Best Ever – My parents started taking my brother and I to Carmelita's in the 60's and it was then and remains still, the best Mexican food any where.
Nice Place Carmelitas mexican restaurant has a big selection of mexican food. The restaurant its self looks verry authentic. The food is really good. The parking is a little hard to deal with, but worth it. The help is verry courtious and friendly. The prices are fair. Its just a allaround good place to take the entire family. Try it you will like it.
