Once again I went to CarMax in Danvers and I brought my daughter to purchase and look at vehicles. I introduced her to JERRY! He helped me and sold me a Beautiful car. He was so patient and just a wonderful person!!!! My daughter decided to wait a month or 2 to purchase but Jerry was so understanding and I would recommend him highly! No question about it!!! He is "THE BEST!!!"
CarMax in Newport News sells defective automobiles. Do not buy from them.....especially my fellow retired and active duty military members in the Hampton Roads, VA region. Carmax in Newport News sells defective autos not fit to be driven off their lot as evidenced by what they did to my son recently. The supervisor here is a fragile little man that hates the First Amendment. He will call the police on you for standing on a public sidewalk taking pictures lie and put your life in danger by accusing you of being "combative" because when you don't answer his questions it bruised his fragile power tripping ego. Carmax cars are overpriced garbage. their 125 point inspection is crap, you need to take their cars to a third party inspection, their finance is outrageous, they pray on the poor and uninformed. Their service department is incompetent. if you buy a Maxcare warranty you better read what is covered, and sometimes they do not even take Maxcare customers and send you to a dealer, shouldn't Maxcare customers take priority. Carmax has a good selection of vehicles, place is clean and a pleasure to walk through the doors. They WILL NOT negotiate a price on a vehicle nor will they negotiate a trade in value. In essence, they call the shots and control the transaction. The price on the vehicle I was interested in buying was fair market price. I entered the information on my car in their system for a "guaranteed" trade-in price. In fine print, they tell you have to go there for the trade in value. The Live Oak location is one of the worst. We get told one thing then get there and are told something different. They do not do what they say they will do, and they schedule appointments then the car salesman is not there. He is conveniently off, a fact he did not state to us. We come from out of town and the car that we were assured by a person and their own system, was there, was in fact not. If you are a serious car buyer, do not waste your time at this mediocre CarMax. It’s unfortunate how this unprofessional sales team, led by poor management really tarnishes the reliable CarMax name. This location sucks! All the negative reviews are accurate. If you reach out to CarMax, expect to talk to a different person every-time. Most of the people you speak with on the phone aren't even at this location! I had a car transferred to this location. It took forever with no updates. I reached out and was told the reason it was taking so long was because it needed some repairs. I asked what repairs but they could not tell me. I was told to call back the following day at 12:01pm.
