First off, Due to an electrical house fire, damages were assessed, and honestly, I'm thankful no one was injured in the process. Our insurance company hired Carlson Restoration after a kitchen fire left our home uninhabitable. From the very beginning we had problems ranging from poor workmanship to communication with the project manager. Subcontractors were used for the entire project. I have been dealing with Carlson Restoration since the hail storm in July 2022 - they still do not have all of the repairs done satisfactorily. My insurance company referred me to Carlson Restoration, so I assumed they would take care of things without causing me a bunch of grief. It has been one thing after another with this contractor. We worked with them on refinishing our basement after flood damage. The contractors never notified us when they would show up each day and would often call when we had left for work to say they had arrived. The painter only did one coat in many areas and trim was left unattached. After all of this, we never received a bill for our portion of the services, but sent in our insurance check, only to have Carlson place a lien on our home. The communication is the worst I've ever experienced.

Whatever you do, don't let the insurance company talk you into sending these guys over. the insurance company wants to send these people over because they will down play your damage. For instance vanity was damaged by water and they told insurance company they can cut a hold in my vanity and stick a new piece of wood in it. Really? I'd like to see them do that in their house when it's damaged. THIS COMPANY IS WORKING FOR INSURANCE, NOT YOU!!!
We worked with Luke after having a window leak. It was a terrible experience. He's rude, terse, and continually pushed the job back. The leak happened in mid-March. We were originally told the job would be completed in mid- to late-April. Luke then said, maybe early May, but continually warned me about how busy they were. I never felt like a priority customer.
