Dr. Mark Carlson is definitely tops in my opinion. He has now replaced my left hip and just recently my right. He is so down to earth and easy to understand. As long as he is in practice I will refer people to him. I can’t say enough about the great care you get as well at OSF Saint Anthony hospital where he does his surgeries. The nurses, CNA’s, physical therapist and everyone else is great. I can’t say thank you enough.
Recently, my 85 year old father visited Mark Carlson for an evaluation of his left knee which has been severely affected by osteoarthritis. Carlson was without question unethical when he painted an unrealistic picture to my Dad, misleading my Dad into thinking that it was a simple surgery and that pain and recovery would go smoothly and quickly. I went to Dr. Carlson once about 2 yrs. ago. He talked & talked so much I couldn't ask any questions, so I had to keep breaking into his talking. He was talking all about his knee & hip surgery. So what does he say I should have done? My knee & hip!! I went to him about my back!! Also I don't know why his website says he does surgery, he told us he hasn't done surgery in yrs.
Excellent Doctor very friendly stuff ,wouldn't go any where else for my orthopedic needs.Having good looking nurses and nurse practitioner helps as well..
Went to him for years for shots in my shoulder. You would think after a while the Dr. Carlson would have wanted another MRI. I had an appointment one morning. I called to make sure he was on secudual, they told me yes he was. After waiting for over an hour I decided to go to a different ortho! Now i need surgery because the tendon that is attached to your rotator cuff isn't attached and has receded. My new Dr told me it's been quite a few years that it's been like that!
A very down to earth guy who explains your injury in a way you totally understand. I felt comfortable in all his decisions and trust his suggestions. Finally a surgeon who takes time for you with no rushing. Thank you to the entire staff !
