Excellent Pizza – My dad happened upon Carl's Italian Restaurant en route to Elitch Gardens when I was a child in the early seventies. It became our pizza haven after every trip the the amusement park, and now, after living in North Denver most of my life, it is by far my favorite pizza in town. For more than 40 years, Carl Digiacomo's humble northwest Denver restaurant has pleased local Italian-food lovers. – In Short Low-priced, working-class cuisine of Chicago-style pizza, pasta and sandwiches. The pies come with a crunchy medium-thick crust and are available in 30 versions-- from basic cheese to pineapple and ham. Spaghetti and ravioli are popular, and the Carl Special delivers a dose of both, along with a meatball, sausage and dessert.
Outstanding Pizza! – After over 50 years in business, there must be something going right here. This is just a simple, blue collar Italian restaurant. Nothing fancy, but it's clean and the food is superior. I took my best friend's future in-laws (Italians from Chicago) here and they were very impressed with the pies. My recommendation here is to get the Italian Sausage, either on a pizza or as a sandwich. It's homemade and packed with flavor.
