My family’s experience with hospice care through Carle Health was deeply upsetting and something I will never forget. Watching my father die. The way he did has left an emotional impact on me and my family. His final moments were filled with visible distress. My dad was put on hospice and we was assured the care and pain management would be thier priorty. Let me tell you if you love the person do NOT use carle hospice the nurses are horrible, not friendly, unprofessional. My dad was in the actual dying process and was breathing short 60 brraths a minute with horrible death rattle we ask if they could give him his pain meds and tbey said NO need to wait another 18 minutes! My father was dying from Parkinson's dementia and stroke damage. He had made an informed decision not to enter a hospital to spend his last days, and had been recommended to Carle Hospice by his Carle primary care provider. He suffered while we waited to hear from Carle. After a day we called them only to find out that he had been rejected without a home visit or even the courtesy of all call back.
