My father was dying from Parkinson's dementia and stroke damage. He had made an informed decision not to enter a hospital to spend his last days, and had been recommended to Carle Hospice by his Carle primary care provider. He suffered while we waited to hear from Carle. After a day we called them only to find out that he had been rejected without a home visit or even the courtesy of all call back.
