I moved to Louisiana a couple weeks ago. My wife and daughter will not be here for a short time. I was having heart problems at work and I came to this hospital. They admitted me and they are helping me get it under control. Another nearby hospital failed me on multiple attempts. Elghalia or “Ghalia”, is a very kind woman. At one time I could and would recommend Ochsner. That is no longer the case. I have had a few things done recently and looked at the MyOchsner web site to see my cost. Both times it told me it would be zero nothing. Both times I was charged. Why say on the MYOchsner web site zero and then I get a bill? Today I went to get a flu shot and they wanted to charge me a 30 dollar copay for a flu shot. I can go all over and get a flu shot for free. You would think Ochsner would care about their patients. Bad customer service and nurses are Bad health workers and doctors
As someone with experience in emergency services in a MUCH busier location than this hospital, I can say this is probably the worst facility I've ever encountered. My ER doctor only wanted to push pain medication which I repeatedly declined because I didn't want ANY pain medication. I wanted to FIX the problem, not mask it. I requested IV antibiotics for an acute case of cellulitis which was repeatedly refused. He kept pushing pain meds.
