Had 4 MRI's and then took day off work, procured driver for 2hr drive to Houston. Saw Dr. Hicks for 15 minutes, pleasant guy who said he was close to retirement and did not want to take my case due to potential complications. Wasted trip, know starting over with another Dr. in his practice, 30 day setback. Very frustrating.
I saw Carl Hicks who got my hip x-rayed and decided that I needed a steroid shot to kill off the pain. He is right and as soon as I get other problems solved we will get on to the shot. He is very caring and explained things so l totally understood what he thinks would be best to do.
Dr. Hicks did a hip replacement for me in March 2025. He was realistic regarding every step leading up to, during, after the surgery and during recovery. I’m going to need knee replacement soon and I will definitely use Dr. Hicks. I highly recommend his services!
Please don’t go to this doctor for a knee replacement. I went to him and had a knee replacement and before I had the knee replacement I could bend my knee, do my job without any problems and get in and out of my car with no problems other than pain because it was bone on bone. Now I can’t do anything. My knee is totally stiff and I have problems doing everything. I have a hard time getting in and out of my car and if I’m on the floor someone has to pick me up.
