I switched to Careplus because they had a 5 star rating at the time. There is no way this is a 5 star company. I have a hard time getting Specialists, because they have left the network. They don't cover my dental cleanings because I have gum loss, even though the charge is the same as for a regular cleaning. They are very slow at paying providers. We just got a notice that a Doctor that my husband saw is not in the network and it took them almost 6 months to process the claim. Now I will be getting bills from this Doc... read more
Stay away from this company. Retired nurse, paramedic, healthcare management, patient. Don't let the 5/5 rating fool you. That is not a patient rating but a Medicare rating based off of services they claim they offer and their plan costs. Customer service is the worst. They will lie to you. Clinical contracts are far and few....you might have to drive 2 hours for an appointment. The quality of service providers are some of worst in healthcare. It's really terrible to say but I'm not happy at all with Care plus and as of next year I'm going to try and find another Medicare Advantage provider. I stayed with this insurance even after losing my husband almost 4 years ago because they were good but they seemed to have went downhill these past couple years. People like me being 65 we look forward to having insurance that looks out for our health. Horrible crooks. I just got a bill for a 10 dollar co pay yet i have a contract with them which states no charge. Also got written approval for a knee xray and yes, they denied that bill too. They offer phony rewards such as a prepaid credit card that never showed.
Trying to get an autho for simple knee xray is nothing but lies from their reps who work from home. I am ready to retain a Lawyer and medicare should be ashamed to give 5 star bs review
This plan is horrible! I just went on Medicare this year and did not know that they just "assign" you a doctor, even though my doctor is in their network. When I was informed by my doctor's office that I needed to get the doctor on my card changed to their name, I immediately called. I was told I would get a new card in 7-10 days, which I did. This is one of the worse HMO. Write your Will and wait for service plans. There customer services are so unknowledgeable and misinformed, if using there advantage be prepared to have financial problems with Medicare.
I would not recommend this plan to anyone. I work for Specialist and I see our patients suffer before they can get a referral when in need. When calling the healthcare plan after getting nowhere with PCP, It gets worse. There are much better plans out there that will do right by you. DO NOT CHOOSE CAREPLUS!
I injured my hand on 12/26/2021. I went to the premier Medical Associates Urgent Care Center in Lady Lake Florida as recommended by my PCP on 12/27/2021. No xray was taken but the attending Phyician suspected a break or fracture. They wrapped my hand in an ace bandage and told me to await a referral for an x-ray. The referral came on 12/29 only after my calling the Urgent Center to inquire. The x-ray was taken and evaluated by a Radiologist within 15 minutes.
