Rented two different boats over the July 4th weekend. While the dock staff was excellent, management completely fails to maintain their fleet. BOAT 1: Loud/underpowered engine, blown speakers, broken fresh water pump, rust, and no marine chart plotter. BOAT 2: Inoperable chart plotter, broken sink, torn upholstery, and a dangerous swim platform with sharp edges. It's clear ownership refuses to invest a single dime into repairs. We've been coming to the boat club for a while. Ella made the experience far better than we have had in the past. She is so personable and fun. Five stars for the experience and for such an awesome employee!
We had the best experience and loved our time. We had exceptional help by our dockhand Ella who insured we were perfectly prepared and gave us a lot of extra attention. Highly recommend and will be back soon.
I loved this boat club until the recent move to Bay Pines from Maximo. It's out of the way and too far to reach South St. Pete boat spots. The boats are falling apart, no gps, no working depth finder, ripped seats. The dock workers are nice, but the club has gone very much downhill. I plan to cancel my membership at the end of the summer and switch to Freedom even though it is more expensive.
It is unfortunate to see how much the club has changed since being acquired by corporate ownership. We were loyal members for five years and genuinely enjoyed our experience prior to the transition. Unfortunately, since the sale, we have encountered one issue after another. One of the most significant problems occurred when dues were apparently not paid to Maximo Marina, resulting in months of member boat reservations being canceled.
