Had scheduled a dobutamine stress echo test for my mom almost 1.5 months before actual appointment. Test was supposed to have eating restrictions, yet no staff nor the instructions on myHealth portal informed my mom of this until I called to check on the morning of the appointment and the staff confirmed the eating restrictions. I saw Dr. Chou while pregnant to make sure some heart issues in childhood had resolved on their own. He was incredibly thorough. I got plenty of tests and even wore a monitor of sorts for 2 weeks. Thankfully all came back 100% healthy. However, I developed hypertension later in pregnancy. I then got postpartum pre-eclampsia and was re-admitted to the hospital after birth. I am left stunned by the absolute negligence that I experienced with Dr. John Chou and the Stanford cardiology group. Three weeks ago I was rushed to the ER from urgent care due to the readings on my EKG. After not being able to convert me and getting blood work back, I was told I most likely have heart disease and need to see a cardiologist within the next 2-3 weeks.
