We visited the Cardinal Room at Burr Oak State Park Lodge on Saturday evening right when they opened at 5:00. Unfortunately, this visit was pretty disappointing compared to our past experiences. We ordered two appetizers, a bowl of soup, and two pizzas. My mom never received her soup, and the onion rings came out cold, with several being too burnt to eat. Terrible service, terrible food, they didn’t even know how to make a Bloody Mary.. The pizza was dam good Though!
Great pizza the first night. Then came back the next day and was very disappointed. Two of us in our group order steak and they couldn’t even eat it. Over cooked , tough and chewy. Salad was brown. Asked for a baked potato and there were out. Requested the bread it comes with and they were out of it. Not coming back again on this trip. Going elsewhere.
So disappointed, we knew kitchen closed at 8 and served only pizza, got there well before 8 waited before someone finally mentioned to go ahead and seat yourself, my boyfriend unloaded the truck and parked and when he returned they still had not come to clean the table from the previous diners, we waited another 10 minutes when he had to go ask so we could sit, it was 7:50 and she announced that we could only order pizza.
