I went to Cardenas today. I'd never been before and I was pleasantly surprised. I went in to see if they had any unusual fruit that Stater Bros doesn't carry. And, what I found was fresh produce for lower prices than your generic grocery store chain. And, great prices on mangos (which were ripe. Usually they are not ripe at the chain grocery stores), and beautiful papaya. Even though they didn't have the persimmons, & figs I was looking for, I spent $59 on fresh produce and spices for a good price. I'm coming back!
I've been shopping at this market for around a year now and it has been a nice experience! There is a cashier here who's name goes by sandra, she's very outgoing and has made my experience even better! although I have not seen her recently.
