Variety of seafood is greater than what you can find on the nearby Redondo Pier. We got some fairly simple dishes: fish & chips, fried clam strips, New England clam chowder and hush puppies. The food was generally good and the clam chowder was great. Prices for our group of 3 averaged $22 per person, which feels high, but everything is expensive these days (March 2026)

Captain Kidd's Fish Market & Restaurant is one of those classic waterfront spots that perfectly captures the laid-back charm of Redondo Beach. Our fish and chips were good. Kind of a hard place order, sit down, and then pick up food with small children. Parking can be terrible of weekends. I've had friends say ordering fresh fish and having them fry it is delicious.

I found the place on the Pacific Highway drive. It is nice to have fresh seafood cooked right next to the kitchen. My main complaint is that there isn’t really that much seasoning on the food itself, and condiments are fairly limited. I still rated 5 stars because the prices are very reasonable considering the location and its seafood.
