I have been going to this place for over 20 years and even after it changed hands I still visited on a continuous basis when I visit Houston. Today Thursday I went in to eat and purchased a $19 sandwich which was excellent and a soda but I was charged $15 as a cover charge for having dinner, yes I was charged $15 to eat there. I can understand if I going as a night club patron for drinks only and to listen to music, but to be CHARGED $15 to buy THEIR FOOD its utterly ridiculous. HORRIBLE experience: - One drink minimum instead of a cover charge (those in AA BEWARE!) - REFUSES to serve water before you buy a drink (or, charges $6.50 for a water!) - No printed wine list . . . they make up prices on the fly - Puny overpriced 3 oz wine servings - Both bartender and table server are rude and indifferent - Took us almost 30 minutes to get our bill and pay it THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN ! ! !
