About this business

Cap's on the Water is the epitome of casual yet refined oceanfront dining. Here it's not out of the ordinary to see flip-flops alongside suits and ties. The kitchen serves local seafood dishes with a Mediterranean twist and great bottles of wine from the restaurant's extensive cellar. For some mesmerizing sunset views, be sure to ask for a table on the outdoor deck. Just make sure you bring your camera.

Caps is our favorite restaurant in the Jacksonville/ St Augustine area. Where else can you sit by the water under the canopy of beautiful oak trees, watch a pleasant virtual parade of boats, and enjoy some delicious seafood? My wife and there had Valentines dinner there yesterday. We each had our favorite entrees, crab cakes and fried shrimp. Both were excellent as usual. We finished off with our favorite desserts, key lime pie and coconut cake. Excellent again! What a perfect evening!

This had been one of my favorites for many years. Last evening was the exception; fish entree was barely warm enough to be edible. Cool breeze from the ICW meant the heaters were needed to stay comfortable...none near us would work and no one seemed able to help. Be aware that their business us good enough that they don't seem to care if you're satisfied. Others can take your place.

The service was above and beyond! Lunch turned into dinner and we didn't want to leave. Sunset view from the deck with warm winds combined with the perfect mimosa makes this place a must visit again destination. 👍
