I spoke with the sellers directly and we agreed on an offer. I then had the offer submitted officially. After seeing the house change to pending I contacted the seller asking if they changed their mind about our agreement. They said that Joyce Holt never told them my offer was put in. They said they even waited until 7 pm to finally accept the other offer because they were waiting for mine (which was submitted hours before).
