Recommending Capitol Hill Handyman John did some minor repairs to my old house including fixing two temperamental toilets, replacing the front door lock, and fixing squeaky doorknobs. He was on time, polite, helpful and reasonably priced. The next time I called him, he came over promptly to help. I would definitely recommend him.

Great Service! Capitol Hill Handyman Review John was easy to get in touch with, busy but not overbooked, and very pleasant to work with. John fixed some of my doors, windows, unclogged a sink, and installed dimmers. he was willing to talk with a window company on the phone to get the skinny directly from them. He was tidy, friendly with my kids, and someone who respected the level of detail/craftmanship I expect in my house. He is knowledgeable and professional. I recommend him!

Not organized, poor follow-thru. I hired John to do a number of projects around my house and for the most part he did a reasonable job on the work done, however there were some problems: 1. John didn't provide an estimate (it was promised "via email" but it never arrived). Without a detailed estimate and task list, John lost track of which projects he still had to do. Also due to the lack of organization he doesn't gather all of the materials for all of the projects ahead of time (more on this later.) 2. John doesn't provide... read more

Good work, unfriendly service & overpriced – I was disappointed with Capitol Hill Handyman for a few reasons. I was upset at an unexpected parking charge that was never mentioned in the quote which included just materials/labor/tax. Norm didn't mention he was billing for parking at the beginning of our appointment or at the end, he just added it to the bill without saying anything. While Norm did a good job at all the projects, he didn't provide the guidance or advice we expected from an experienced handyman. For example for... read more

Nice guys, know what they're doing – Norm was friendly and professional. Their hourly rate is a bit higher than some other handyman services (and solo guys) out there (it was $75/hr for one job and $65/hour for another job due to a special they were running), but they know what they're doing and there's definitely peace of mind in knowing that they're not going to mess things up and will fix it right the first time--or come back until it's right. Not sure if it's still the case but there was a 2-hour minimum when I used them... read more
