One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had was at Capital Women’s Care. The way I was treated by Dr. Alma Engel was incredibly unprofessional and deeply concerning. From the moment I walked in, it was clear to me that compassion and patient care were not priorities for her. Capital Women’s Care and their entire staff are truly wonderful—always respectful, supportive, and kind. They make you feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way. I would gladly recommend them to any woman who is expecting or in need of OBGYN services.
I was coerced into a pelvic exam by PA, Engel Alma. I said no 3 times and she kept insisting that she “had to”.. I am an assault victim with vaginismus and had made this known. Exam wasn’t necessary as it clearly wasn’t emergent to be done. You are allowed to say no under any circumstances, and I’m saddened that I let myself be invaded in that manner.
I have been here multiple times regarding my concerns for PCOS with different doctors each one tells me different things. I feel like I keep going and don’t get any help other then being put on birth control to get a “fake period”. I had to personally request to have my pelvic exam after a variety of missed periods and pelvic pains. All they recommend is birth control. I would not recommend this practice to anyone who values honesty, transparency, or compassionate care. While a few members of the staff are truly exceptional and treat patients with kindness, unfortunately my experience with Brad Norman and Nicole DeQuattro leaves much to be desired and raises serious red flags. After my pregnancy was declared non-viable, the office immediately and urgently scheduled me for a D&C despite my very real concerns around PTSD from previous procedures.
