Never had any surgery like that before. They were very supportive and great staff and doctors that actually fixed the problem as had. First surgery. That didn't do anything and was loosing hope for. Dr. Ortiz provided a booklet outlining pre surgical exercises and procedures that were simple to follow. He throughly explained robotic TKR surgery. I did not expect the surgery to be without pain but found the pre surgical preparation and use of ice therapy following surgery were extremely helpful. In less than 3 weeks, I am walking without assistance. I still use ice therapy following physical therapy and exercise but the pain is tolerable and I sleep well. I have the privilege of working part time at Bone & Joint and see all the providers there as well as patients. Today was my day to be a patient ! My age group ( 70’s) likes what they know to feel comfortable, we don’t adapt well to change, however with medical care it’s also important to have a doctor who has the latest medical experience and technology available.
