This review pertains only to the emergency room department of Cape fear Valley. I have been an impatient several times and doing that time. Service was great. The people were professional respectable. My recent visit through the emergency department was so disappointing and stressful. The The triage went smoothlyhowever? The wait to see an actual doctor was over 12 hours. I checked in at 5 AM and didn’t get home until 6 PM. I feel this is not acceptable for any hospital, especially when somebody’s in pain. If I could give zero stars I would. I sat in the waiting room for well over 10 hours, before I left. In that 10+ hours only 3 people got taken back! 3 people over 10 hours is crazy! During the 10 + of sitting there the medicine I took before coming in wore off, and I told the nurse multiple times that my pain was getting worse, I was pretty much told sorry you just have to deal with it until you get to the back. The floor dr would make his rounds in the morning not one of the 6 day my mother was there did he listen to her heart or physically check her. The extent of his exam was to ask how she felt and if she had any concerns. If she/I voiced a concern he said he would check on it. most of the nursing staff were on top of things. But several times when she needed assistance it would take more than 40 minutes for someone to show up. Horrible hospital!! Very traumatizing birth and would not let my husband in the room after we were told he was going to be in there while i gave birth. I did not feel well taken care of.
