This vet recommends declawing? I'm not sure how a vet can be described as compassionate towards animals when he is willing to cut their fingers and toes off at the nuckle bone just to remove its claws? DECLAWING IS BARBARIC NOT COMPASSIONATE and is illegal in some states.
I was informed that this Veterinarian advised a client to ignore a signed and legally binding contract about declawing. This is so irresponsible! As a breeder I have a contract in place that if any kitten adopted from me is declawed I can come pick up the kitten with or without law enforcement and it will be surrendered to me with no refund to the kitten. Declawing itself is such a painful and barbaric procedure that I cannot imagine why a vet would even suggest it!
I sent a client that purchased 2 kittens from me to this clinic. She took them in for a well check up and to schedule their spaying. Dr. Barnett suggested they be DECLAWED on all 4 at the same time! My client informed him that she had signed a NO DECLAW contract. And Dr. Barnett had the NERVE to miss inform my client that it was NOT a legal binding contract! SERIOUSLY are you kidding me?! I wouldn't trust my 3 dogs anywhere else. My 4-year old hound/lab mix tore an ACL and required surgery to walk. The Dr. said he probably would recover about 50% after surgery. Today my dog is as happy and active as ever with no noticeable pain or limp.
Doc Don & his wife Jane went above and beyond when it came to saving our Frenchie! And then we came home with a found kitten!!
Poor customer service today!! I don't write reviews but felt this was deserving and in hopes of improvement for the next customer.
